Recycled wood containing Tama timber: PLUSWOOD-TM
Exterior / Outdoor Living
In addition to our existing utilization of thinned wood from Fukui Prefecture, we have added “PLUSWOOD-TM,” a recycled wood containing Tokyo-grown Tama timber, as a new way to utilize Tama timber.
The First Recycled Wood to Use Tama Timber
In addition to our existing utilization of thinned wood from Fukui Prefecture, we have added “PLUSWOOD-TM,” a recycled wood containing Tokyo-grown Tama timber, as a new way to utilize Tama timber.
This is the first recycled wood product to use “Tokyo Wood / Tama Timber,” with its origin certified by the Tama Timber Certification Council.
By using thinned wood from the Tama region, we contribute to $CO_2$ sequestration, promote forest maintenance, and revitalize local industries.

Evaluation comments by the judging committee
This is an environmentally friendly architectural exterior material born from a partnership between a regional forestry cooperative and a plastic development manufacturer, utilizing thinned wood from the Tama region and recycled resin.
We highly evaluate this as a local production for local consumption initiative that clarifies the entire process from raw material procurement to production and consumption—consuming Tokyo-sourced materials within Tokyo. It is also very wise to focus on building materials for long-term use, turning them into products with a low risk of being discarded.
We hope that the future utilization of raw materials from their place of origin and other reclaimed waste materials will change the awareness of local residents and promote a shift in values toward consumption, and we expect such initiatives to become increasingly popular.
What is Tokyo Wood?

Tokyo Wood Logo
“Tokyo Wood” is a designation permitted for use on products made from Tama City’s timber whose origin has been certified by the Tama Timber Certification Council. Using “Tokyo Wood / Tama Timber” leads to the maintenance of Tama City’s forests. By using harvested wood and planting new seedlings on those sites, healthy forests grow through the maintenance of the forest cycle.
The Tama Timber Certification Council provides certificates of origin for “Tokyo Wood / Tama Timber,” and our company is certified as a registered user (Certification No. R4E11).
