WHAT IS PLUSWOOD?
PLUSWOOD Deck ND is a recycled wood decking system featuring an adjustable-height steel joist structure. It is ideal for large-scale outdoor decks and boardwalks with high pedestrian traffic.

Gap Design to Prevent Item Loss
The unique cross-sectional profile of Deck ND is engineered to prevent coins and small personal items from falling through the gaps without the need for additional parts. In public buildings, schools, and commercial facilities where large crowds gather, losing belongings through deck joints usually requires removing the floorboards for retrieval. With Deck ND, this risk is significantly minimized.
Safety: Self-Extinguishing Material
“Self-extinguishing” refers to the material’s ability to cease burning naturally once the ignition source is removed. This performance is evaluated according to JIS K 6911 (General Test Methods for Thermosetting Plastics, Section 5.2, Flammability Method A).
By installing self-extinguishing decking in public areas, commercial complexes, schools, and high-rise buildings, fire safety is substantially enhanced. Furthermore, we select environmentally friendly additives to achieve this fire resistance, ensuring compliance with the EU RoHS Directive.*
*RoHS Directive: A directive by the European Parliament and Council restricting the use of specific hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. It targets the following 10 substances:
Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Hexavalent Chromium, Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB), Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE), Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), Dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP).

Screw-Free Surface for Enhanced Safety
Because recycled wood is manufactured using plastic extrusion technology, it allows for more complex shapes and hollow structures compared to natural timber, offering significant design advantages.
Deck ND is secured using a “side-clamping” method with specialized fixing clips. This ensures that no screws are exposed on the surface, making it safer for pedestrians. While screws are used at the starting and ending points of the installation, the material does not shrink or “thin out” like natural wood, meaning screw heads will not protrude over time.
High-Corrosion Resistance Joist System
The sleepers (main beams) and joists are made of rust-resistant steel sheets coated with a high-performance Zinc-Aluminum-Magnesium alloy. Unlike standard galvanized steel—where the zinc sacrificially corrodes to protect the iron, often leaving cut edges vulnerable to red rust—this alloy forms a protective film containing magnesium over the cut surfaces. Even at cut ends where the steel is exposed, the alloy creates a corrosion-resistant barrier, providing exceptional longevity.
Based on the corrosion resistance test results of the joist material, calculations derived from the reduction on the plating layer under outdoor exposure indicate that the product demonstrates excellent corrosion resistance equivalent to 40 years in an accelerated corrosion test. Steel joists have a Young’s Modulus approximately three times higher than aluminum joists. This high rigidity, even in thin-walled sections, provides a solid, stable feel underfoot when walking.
Superior Weather Resistance
Designed for outdoor environments, the material is highly resistant to resin degradation and color fading caused by weathering. This ensures the aesthetic beauty of the initial installation is preserved for a long period.
Anti-Static Performance (Decking Only)
The wood powder within the material absorbs a minute amount of moisture, which allows static electricity to dissipate naturally. This function suppresses the painful discharge (static shock) that often occurs when touching metal objects after walking on a deck.
